The singular voice of Bob Dylan has captivated and challenged audiences from the first note of his self-titled debut album for Columbia Records in 1962. With the release of The Complete Album Collection, Vol. One, fans old and new will be able to explore Dylans career in greater depth than ever before.
From the beginning, Dylan was a pioneer unlike any other - one whose muse took him and his adoring audiences to many exciting places. Just when critics thought they had him figured out as the most literate, acoustic folksmith of the 1960s, he strapped on an electric guitar and performed one of the most daring sonic shifts in pop music history with Highway 61 Revisited. Hed abandon his home base of New York for country-influenced flights of fancy on Nashville Skyline and Self Portrait. As the 1970s ended and the 1980s began, he began to openly address his newfound christian faith in his songs. And when even the most loyal fans began to wonder what musical tricks he could possibly still have up his sleeves, he began a run of late-career masterpieces with 1997s Time Out Of Mind, prompting generations to look forward instead of looking back to discover Bob Dylan.
The Complete Album Collection, Vol. One brings those musical journeys together in one deluxe box set. All of Dylans original studio and live albums will be included - 42 albums in all. Fourteen of these have been newly remastered for this set, and each is housed in mini-jacket packaging, perfectly replicating each original release. Also included in The Complete Album Collection, Vol. One is Side Tracks, a new two-disc set of songs from non-album singles, compilations and more. A deluxe 268-page booklet featuring new essays, original liner notes and detailed discographical information will also be included.
