Product Description

Columbia Records / Legacy Recordings 2 disc compilation consisting of previously released live recordings - ‘Live 1962 – 1966: Rare Performances From The Copyright Collections’. While all these tracks are previously released (as part of the ‘Copyright Collections’), most are near impossible to find. This album makes for a fantastic listen and shines a light on some great performances that were initially overlooked (because of their limited release).

  1. Nice Compilation of Live Tracks 5 Star Review

Posted by on 17th Aug 2018

All of these tracks have been released on the limited edition Copyright Collection Discs which most people couldn't get their hands on. Tracks are great , my only complaint is that the track information on CD paper insert is written in blue on black and is difficult to read ( or is it my age ? )
    Excellent Bob anyway.

  2. Signs of the times 5 Star Review

Posted by on 30th Jul 2018

An excellent taster for those Dylan fans unable to get their hands on all of the limited original copyright recordings that were made available. The tracks, spanning two discs, cover various live performances of Dylan's more well known songs from 1962-1966. They trace his on-stage evolution and reveal his brilliance as a performer. As you would expect the sound quality varies depending on venue but this does not detract from the enjoyment of these historically important recordings. Dylan's song lyrics clearly reflect the radical Zeitgeist of those turbulent times. A worthy and essential addition to Dylan's recordings catalogue.

  4. Great live selection from rare Dylan limited edition sets 5 Star Review

Posted by on 30th Jul 2018

Thanks to Badlands I have all five of the source sets from which this 2CD set is culled, but it's great to have all these live performances on CD, many for the first time. The liner notes don't mention that Ballad Of A Thin Man from Edinburgh 1966 was previously released in 2005 on "The Bootleg Series Vol. 7 - No Direction Home: The Soundtrack". Worth buying for the first known performance of Blowin' In The Wind alone!
