ABOUT THE BOOK:
There’s a lot in print about Bob Dylan but very little of it is from the fans-eye view of the people who saw and heard Dylan in his reputation-building first two decades.
In this book more than 400 fans, friends and colleagues tell their stories of seeing, knowing and working with Bob Dylan from his hometown of Hibbing right through to finding Jesus – with first hand accounts of seeing him live from the smallest of venues to festivals and arenas.
From early recording sessions through the 1966 tour; from the rural seclusion of Woodstock to turning gospel this book reveals a contemporary view of the younger Dylan. The people who were there take you back to an amazing era, with personal photographs, memorabilia, fascinating anecdotes, and stories that have never been published before.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Long time Dylan fan Neil Cossar named his band The Cheaters from a line in the Dylan song ‘Subterranean Homesick Blues’ ‘…but losers, Cheaters, Six-time users…’ They were signed to Parlophone Records in the Eighties but never troubled the charts!
Cossar launched the award winning web site This Day in Music.com in 1999, which has since been published as a book three times. The brand has also released a series of iPhone Apps including Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and more. He also published David Bowie – I Was There in 2017
