Bruce Springsteen’s first new studio album in five years, released on June 14th 2019.
The album, entitled WESTERN STARS, draws inspiration in part from the Southern California pop records of the late 60’s & early 70’s. It is a return to his solo recordings featuring character driven songs and, in this instance, sweeping orchestral arrangements.
Produced by Ron Aniello, the musical arrangements include strings, horns & steel pedal with Springsteen on bass, keyboard and other instruments. Patti Scialfa provides vocals & contributes to vocal arrangements on four tracks. All songs written by Bruce Springsteen.

As a very long time fan of Bruce, nearly up to 100 concerts all over the world, he has never failed to amaze me, this new release is just sublime! The orchestral backing is superb, all songs smooth and beautiful, what more can I say!

The most consistently strong album since ghost of tom joad. Cinematic, unusual at times and full of great melodies Springsteen has pulled another gem from his hat.

I first heard about this project from Peter Ames Carlin's 2012 book 'Bruce'. Carlin interviewed Ron Aniello, who revealed he had been helping Springsteen to write symphonic arrangements for 30 or 40 songs written in 2010 ''like Aaron Copeland, the American landscape style. Soft and deep and open sky. Gentle and beautiful, gorgeous and so disarming''.
All these years later, here it is. 'Western Stars' more than lives up to such great expectations. Beautiful and deeply moving melodies and lyrics.
For my money, the best Boss album since 'The River'. Utterly stunning!

This Album was well worth the wait, all of the songs are absolutely beautiful, very hard to pick a favourite but in my opinion There goes my Miracle just edges it.

The wait is over! Western Stars is finally here and as always, Bruce is as brilliant as ever.
A change of direction is always a treat and doesn’t disappoint.
